Students should be able to apply maths to their academic development, whatever discipline they choose.
We suggest a way to participate and improve Wikipedia by applying math functions in their academic field. In teams they could find or get assigned a mathematical function seen in the course program, and find an application of it in their study field. For example, in engineering derivatives are applied often in the design of spillways
